It’s about to get crazy

Tomorrow, football season starts for my oldest son. We have practice four nights a week for two hours for three weeks, then three nights for an hour and a half for the rest of the season. Plus games on Saturday and random events/fundraising. He’s 9. And I have two other sons starting martial arts. And a little thing called school with lots of reading and homework. So… my life is about to get really crazy. πŸ™‚

I am going to need to really work hard to keep up with all of that AND stick to my writing challenge. But the great thing about having a goal, and sharing it with others, is that you have a way to keep moving ahead when things get crazy.

A friend posted this great quote on Facebook today:

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.
– Henry Ford

I may get busy ( or rather, busier ), but I will keep my eyes on the goal.

Have a great week y’all and I’ll catch you next Sunday after I have made it through our first week back to football. πŸ™‚

PS – I saw 30 Seconds to Mars in concert for the first time last night and it was such a fun time! I became a fan in the last year or so. You can read a tiny bit of my 30 Seconds to Mars love in my A is for Alibi post from earlier this year. Seeing them live was great. And they played part of the song Hurricane, which is one of my favorites!!

I will have to see them again and I will have to get seats closer to the stage next time. If you wanna go see a cool show – be sure to check them out.

And Jared Leto – he is awesome. πŸ™‚

Welcome to my new followers and all the visitors from the A to Z blogging challenge who are stopping in to say ‘hello’. I appreciate it!

For those of you new to my blog, I post in the late evenings US Central time. This is in part due to my crazy, busy & wonderful life as a full-time working, married, mother of three boys. But it is also partially due to my being an English major who always managed to do my best work in college under a deadline. It’s been a long time since I got my degree, but old habits die hard, I suppose. πŸ™‚

A is for “Alibi”, which is an incredibly beautiful song by one of my favorite bands, 30 Seconds to Mars. Their songs are in heavy rotation on my work playlist, which keeps me sane during the long and sometimes stressful days. I frequently find myself just closing my eyes while listening to the end of that song. Toward the end, the lyric repeats ‘I fell apart’ over and over and then, ‘But got back up again’.

The music is so beautiful, but I also really respond to the idea that even if you’ve fallen apart, you get back up again.

30 Seconds to Mars makes my work day better, but also is really spectacular for my writing playlist. ‘Alibi’ and ‘Hurricane’ from their This is War cd are especially good for writing times. ‘City of Angels’ is another favorite from their newer Love Lust Faith + Dreams cd. As a writer, I love how their songs tell a story, and there are some achingly beautiful ones.

On a final note, as we go through this month, you’ll see that I find a lot of inspiration in music, movies and books, so a lot of my posts will be a collection of my favorites. Hopefully some will be your favorites, too. Feel free to post a comment and share how you love whatever has inspired me, too. I love to hear from you and I will do my best to reply.

See you tomorrow (hopefully) for “B” which will be:
