D is for…

My 2015 A to Z Challenge Theme is Quotes & Lines from Literature. Each day I will be posting a favorite quote or a few lines from well known short stories, poems or novels, with the letter of the first name as the A to Z. I’ll have a short write up with each quote, but each quote can also serve as a writing prompt for readers or myself.  I may write a poem or flash fiction based on that quote, or just throw it out there as inspiration. Hopefully you’ll join me in this adventure! I’ll try to include some of my favorite blog finds as I move through the challenge as well.

Today’s quote is one of my favorites. There are so many great quotes on kindness (at least one other will be mixed into my A to Z), but this one breaks it down so simply.

It is always possible to be kind, and the world needs more kindness.

I am keeping this post short and sweet since it’s a busy weekend with family for the Easter holiday.  Whatever you believe, whatever you are celebrating this weekend, I wish you and yours a lovely weekend.

And then I will see you next week for another bunch of A to Z challenge posts! πŸ˜ƒ

Check out these great blogs participating in the A to Z Challenge:

Wordsplash – Joanne is posting unique Texas towns and mixing in fun quotes from Downton Abbey. πŸ˜€

The Lunatic, The Lover & The Poet – Jesi is posting a poem a day mixing A to Z Challenge with NaPoWriMo πŸ˜€

Musings of a Meandering Mind – Lots of creative topics with a great conversational writing style. Newbie blogger – show her some love! πŸ˜€

  1. Thank you for the shout-out, sweetie! I appreciate it.
I love this quote, too. I always think of it as saying “you have no excuse not to be kind”. Every day, every person we meet and interact with, is an opportunity to practice kindness. Wonderful quote and I’m glad you shared it.

    1. I like that take on the quote! No excuse not to be kind. πŸ˜ƒ

Hey just FYI there is a blog on the A to Z list just a few after where we are listed – A Writer Be Here or something like that who is doing both A to Z and NaPoWriMo like you are πŸ˜€ Thought you might wanna visit that one.

      1. It’s Here There Be A Writer. It’s Cindy’s Blog from OctPoWriMo and I follow her there and on Twitter and FB. πŸ˜‰
Totally on top of it. hehehehe.

    1. Thanks! Yes, it’s pretty fascinating, both the names and the history of the towns. πŸ˜€ The other 2 blogs are great to check out too. Thanks for the visit!

  2. can’t go wrong with kindness. Thanks so much for the shout out. Enjoy Easter weekend. I bet the egg hunt is a tad crazy. Have fun

    1. Thanks! Though I hear it will rain, not sure how an egg hunt will go but I think we will dye eggs anyway. Then I am making my famous (in my family) Sunshine Cake πŸ˜‰

  3. Such a thoughtful quote. One everyone can use as positive influence to be a kinder person. I am visiting from Co-host AJ Lauer’s AtoZ team. Just wanted to welcome you to this years challenge. Look forward to more of your quotes.

  4. We just saw the new Cinderella movie and this quote reminds me of the theme throughout it–“have courage and be kind.” It’s a great motto for life and will take you far.
